Cleanup and Redevelopment Underway at Former Diamond One Stop Site
UPDATE — September 10, 2026: Progress continues at the former Diamond One Stop site, and exciting things are happening at this location as the property moves one step closer to redevelopment. The City of Lidgerwood has been informed that Baranko Companies plans to arrive Monday, September 14, to begin excavation work at three to four identified areas of concern on the property.
Crews will excavate these areas as part of the ongoing environmental remediation process, with work anticipated to be completed by the end of the week, weather and site conditions permitting. Residents and motorists should be aware of heavy equipment operating in the area and increased truck traffic along Wiley Avenue and routes in and out of Lidgerwood as material is hauled away from and brought back to the site. Please use extra caution when traveling through the area while work is underway.
This cleanup is an important step in preparing the property for its next chapter. Once remediation is complete, Wiley Farm & Home plans to move forward with construction of a new hardware store at the site. It is exciting to see progress happening at this longtime commercial property and new investment taking shape in our community.

Cleanup and Redevelopment Underway at Former Diamond One Stop Site
August 24, 2026—The City of Lidgerwood would like to inform residents about an upcoming cleanup and redevelopment project at the former Diamond One Stop gas station, located at 117 Wiley Ave. S.
The former underground fuel tanks were removed last year, at which time core samples were taken to assess the site. After the core sample testing was completed, it was determined that additional cleanup is necessary. Environmental cleanup will continue over the coming weeks, with Baranko Companies completing the remediation work to address affected soil and prepare the property for future development. Cleanup is expected to be completed by the end of September. Funding for the remediation has been made possible through a Brownfield Grant, which supports the cleanup and redevelopment of properties where environmental concerns may otherwise hinder future use and economic development.
Once the cleanup is complete, construction is expected to begin immediately on an exciting new addition to Lidgerwood. Wiley Farm & Home plans to build a new hardware store at the site, bringing the property back into productive use and adding another local business to the community.
Residents may notice cleanup crews, equipment, and other activity at the property as work progresses. The City is sharing this information as part of its commitment to keeping the community informed and providing an opportunity for public engagement throughout the project.
